Limited edition prints have a fixed number of each size that will ever be printed. Each print is hand-numbered by the artist in the bottom-left corner, indicating the number of that print and the total number in the edition. For example, the first print in an edition of 50 would be labeled "1/50" and the last would be "50/50." Danika's limited edition prints come with a certificate indicating the number, title, and size of each print.
Open edition prints may be reproduced an unlimited number of times. They are still signed by the artist.
Danika's prints come with a 1/4" to 1/2" white border. This is standard practice for archival prints for several reasons:
The border allows a place for the artist's signature and limited edition numbering if applicable
The border can make it easier to mat and frame the print
Space around the image protects the image from damage. The most likely cause of damage to prints is dings or tears in the edges. When there is a border around the image, these small damages are unlikely to affect the actual image.
