New Year, New City, Old Dreams

I wanted to be a lot of things when I was a little kid. I wanted to be the first female president of the United States. Another week I declared I would be an astronomer “when I grew up.” Archeology was also on the list, I believe. But one profession always seemed to stick around: I’ve always wanted to be an artist when I grow up.

My childhood dreams are coming true. This past month I moved to Austin, Texas after graduating. I am working as a full-time studio artist (and sometimes freelance graphic designer.) I am doing exactly what I love to do and I almost can’t believe it!

I have a studio space at Cement Loop in Windsor Park in East Austin. I am still settling in, but I thought I’d give a little peak at my work space:

Since the start of the New Year I have already been super busy! I have been working on several commissions the past few weeks. They have been challenging and fun.

I am continuing my work with my Tiny Texas series – my current pieces mostly feature landscapes from the Big Bend region of Texas and I will be posting them as I complete more. Some are already available online in my Etsy shop.

I have started a Facebook page for my art business – make sure to follow it and find me on Instagram so you never miss a post!
